Not folklore — a protocol.

Choose your discipline, the phase of training you're drinking for, and roughly how long the session runs. The calculator returns one tea from the Teamotea retail catalogue, with the gram weight, water volume, temperature, and steep schedule pulled straight from that tea's own brewing card — scaled to your session, not invented for the occasion.

The science behind it

Where these numbers actually come from

The tea, and its dosing

Every gram weight, water volume, temperature, and steep count comes directly from that SKU's own brewing card in the Teamotea retail catalogue — the same catalogue used for wholesale and retail sourcing. We didn't estimate these; we read them off the card the tea already ships with.

Which tea, and when to drink it

The discipline-and-phase pairing is drawn from this site's own field-tested protocol threads — logged by named Teamotea experts training alongside the athletes who read them. Where no discipline-specific thread exists yet, the calculator says so plainly and borrows the nearest general protocol rather than pretending a match exists.

Session scaling

Pre-workout is a single prepared serving. Intra-workout assumes a fresh dose roughly every 45 minutes of activity — a pacing rule taken from the thermos and cold-brew protocols already published here, not a lab constant. Post-workout adds a second serving only for sessions of 150 minutes or longer.

The hydration note

If you enter a body weight, the optional hydration line uses the widely cited 5–7 ml per kg body-weight pre-exercise guidance from general sports-nutrition practice. It is deliberately kept separate from the tea protocol above it — general fluid guidance, not a tea-specific claim.

None of this replaces a coach, a nutritionist, or a doctor. Where a claim needs a controlled study rather than a field log, the linked thread says so and points to tea.doctor's research desk instead of inventing one here.
